I screwed up

Man, sometimes you just can't win.

Yesterday, I thought I'd try something out. It worked.

Normally, that would be a good thing. But yesterday, not so much.

I didn't think through the ramifications.

Here's what happened:

As you know, I LOVE Aweber. But there are things it doesn't do (that I think it should).

Like automatically unsub a subscriber from one list when he or she gets to the end of the autoresponder series I set up and THEN add them to another list.

But AW Pro Tools does. That's pretty nifty.

Here's what I wanted:

You may remember me giving a video tutorial series on "3 dollar a day websites." Once that series was over, I wanted subscribers to that training to be unsubbed there and put on my "main list."

It's a list I started a gajillion years ago.

HOWEVER, what I failed to think through was this:

I had a two-part autoresponder series set up on that "old" list. What that meant was that people on the $3 a day list got the first message of that autoresponder that said something to the effect of:

"Welcome to Internet Marketing Muscle." Blech. Of course, once I realized what happened, I killed the autoresponder series.

But the damage was done.

A number of folks, maybe you, contacted me to say, "What?" or "Did I do something wrong?" or "Why did you do that?"

I am sorry if that happened to you. It's 100 percent my fault for doing that.

I committed what I consider to be a cardinal sin: Automating stuff before I fully tested it. I should have run an experiment on myself.

Instead, I ran it on you. And for that, I'm sorry.

YOU did nothing wrong. I did.

And I don't blame you if you unsubscribe. The link is at the bottom of this (and every) email. Please use it if I've lost your trust.

But know that I will love you forever if you stay :)

Until next time (if there is one),

Bill
