marketing in four steps

Published: Tue, 08/23/16

I stole this from Seth Godin.

You can read what he wrote here.

Basically, "selling" is a 4-step process (he calls it marketing) and he spells it out pretty simply, but in more words than I do:
  1. Invent something. It's a concept. Sketch it out on paper. Make sure it's something people want or need.
  2. Create it. Actually build the thing. It could be a product or service. But it's always a product, even if it's a service because it's a thing. Make sure people want it.
  3. Tell the right people about it. Make sure people want it.
  4. Show up, support it and your customers. Give a shit.
SO many business people screw one or more of these parts up. I wish I could point to one of them, but most often, it's all of them. Sorry just telling the truth.

Until next time,

Bill
