Friday Tools edition

So the first thing I did was look at my "old" laptop's configuration. What programs did I have installed there? How did I set up the taskbar, desktop, settings?
The biggest piece of all of this is the programs.
Downloading them, installing them, and setting them up...
Here's a quick run-down of the apps I installed:
- Chrome - funny how Microsoft IE (and now "Edge") is the most-used browser...for downloading Firefox and Chrome!
- Microsoft Office
- Spartan Multi-clip (I love this software - best "clipboard" software EVER)
- FileZilla (ftp client)
- 7-Zip (compress/decompress files)
- Evernote
- Printer software for my Canon
- Notepad ++ (Notepad and Wordpad replacement)
- Hide My Ass (for VPN)
- PDF-Exchange (less annoying than Adobe Reader)
- VLC (all-purpose video player)
- LastPass (password manager)
- Camtasia (video editor)
- Xmind (mindmapping)
- Scapple (different mindmapping)
- Revo Uninstaller (better program remover than Windows "Remove software")
- Everything (it's really a program and it's AWESOME - it indexes and finds anything on your hard drive if you know part of its filename)
- CC Cleaner Pro ("crap cleaner")
- Skitch (screen grabber)
- Google Drive (takes FOREVER to sync just after installation but it's my choice for cloud-based file storage)
- Adobe Creative Suite
Note: No links above at all. Google them!
Also note that I have a LOT more programs installed on my "desktop" PC. Hope this helps give you an idea of the tools I use.
Until next time,
Bill
