I bought a new

...pet monkey.

I've always liked monkeys. Sometimes they don't like me. And they can be quite filthy. But I love 'em anyway!

Wait. That was a dream.

Yesterday, I bought a new laptop. And it wasn't a Dell. It wasn't a ThinkPad (oh, how I miss you, IBM). It certainly wasn't a Crapple.

I bought an HP.

It's a work PC, so it doesn't need all the bells and whistles.

I bought it at Costco. I'm always impressed with Costco's service, selection, and pricing. It was a painless experience.

Best part? Two things:
  1. With every laptop, their "Concierge" service adds on another year to the manufacturer's warranty. I usually never look at warranties, or even consider them in my buying decisions, but with things being more cheaply made all the time, it's becoming more important to me. My recent Vizio TV experience is turning the tide. No, I didn't buy it at Costco. Next time!
  2. I went in knowing what I wanted and came out with more: A better processor, longer battery life, better sound (no biggie, really), and more RAM (very important).
They also offer a 90-day money-back guarantee on electronics. Even if you "just don't like it," you can return it and get something else or your money back. I like that. Not that I'd do that, but options.

I can't speak more highly of Costco. Plus, there is nobody there to hound you and they always have what they display in stock. Unlike those office supply and big box stores.

Next time you need something in the way of a computer, check out Costco. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Until next time,

Bill
