This is not a trick question.

Astronauts are highly-intelligent, highly-trained professionals.

So why do they rely on checklists more than any any other profession? (Okay, pilots do something similar, but admittedly, an airplane--while complex--is a lot simpler than a rocket.)

Two reasons:

1. Checklists bring complicated projects to fruition.
2. Checklists constantly remind the user of every important task that's part of a proven routine.
