Hot off the press!

Hi,

A L-O-N-G time ago, I ran an actual printing press. It was for the school administration and was headed up by my chemistry teacher.

It was my first full-time job, right out of high school. Except I was back IN high school.

I'd decided to take a year off school after I graduated to find out what I really wanted out of life. (I'm still searching.)

And it was fun because it was a bigass machine that was capable of churning out something like 9,000 copies an hour.

I had a couple student helpers. And damn it, if I let this one kid run the press toward the end of the day, he'd jam it up every.single.time.

Cleaning that thing was a real B----.

It had to be done every day, too.

The best part about the job was I had a little control over my ex-teachers.

"Hey Bill, can you squeeze me in?"

"No, I'm sorry, the press is down. But you can use that Ditto machine over there."

If you've ever actually used a Ditto machine, you know how sucky it is...

Of course, sometimes the machine was "down" even when it wasn't :)

Well, times sure have changed. Instead of typing stuff up, sending it to the printing press, and running several hundred or thousand copies, you can now just "fire up" Word or WordPress or Aweber and get your message out to (potentially) BILLIONS.

Speaking of which, the "Sunday Morning Sit-down" is brand-spanking new and you should read it.

Make it a great day!

Bill
