Another Hump Day
Published: Wed, 12/06/17
And you know what that means:
We're halfway through the work week.
I know, some of us work 7 days a week. Or we don't work the typical "9 to 5 Monday through Friday" grind.
I personally hate grinding.
Such hard work loses to smart work all the time. And you need leisure time for your subconscious to do it's thing.
So I spend a lot more time thinking than doing and a lot more time not thinking than thinking.
(HEY! NO JOKES! hehe)
Not thinking (subconscious, or rather passive thought) > thinking > doing
Doing is just carrying out a task. The real work comes with the first two things.
What's all this mean? How does this fit in with Hump Day?
You can set up your workflow thusly:
Monday: Subconsciously "work" on your project
Tuesday: Actively think (i.e., plan) out your project
Wednesday: Transition from "thinking" to doing
Thursday: Do the work
Friday: Finish up and hit "publish" (i.e., "make public")
Wow, I'm using a lot of "quotes" and italics.
Next, I'll be using colors and different fonts! Bill has gone mad!
Moving on:
I found some good books today. Some notables:
- 5-Minute Marketing for Authors: Get More Sales for Your Books in Just 5 Minutes a Day.
- MARK CUBAN: The Life & Success Stories Of A Shark Billionaire. He's a jerk but he is wealthy. Take that for what it's worth.
- Summary: The Intelligent Investor. This is THE wealth-building through value investing BIBLE.
- RV Living: A Beginner’s Guide To Turning Your Motorhome Dream Into Reality. Intriguing. I could do this as a single person, maybe even married. I'd go insane with a family.
- OneNote: OneNote User Guide. I used to love Evernote, until I started using OneNote. Now it's ON all the time!
- NLP: Neuro Linguistic Programming: Re-program your control over emotions and behavior, Mind Control - 3rd Edition (Hypnosis, Meditation, Zen, Self-Hypnosis, Mind Control, CBT). NLP always strikes me as mumbo jumbo BS but it's always good to keep up with what's going on in marketing. A LOT of people proclaim to use it. So there's that.
All of today's books:
Make it a great day!
Bill
PS--Check this out. It looks pretty cool. I'm probably picking it up today. It's a way to personalize your web site. Read about it here.
Verbiage from Lionel Hutz: Some links I mention in my emails are to resources where I'm an affiliate. When you click and decide to buy, I earn a commission. You don't pay more. I'm proud to recommend those resources I've purchased, reviewed, or personally use in my own business. You should always perform your own due diligence before buying anything from anyone, including me.
