Tools for Tuesday

Published: Tue, 11/14/17

I love tools! Power tools, hand tools, online tools. You name it, I try it, and many times I like it!

I wanted to share with you today a few of the tools (and resources) I use on a near-daily basis (if not hourly).

First up is the not so obvious "web browser." I am a diehard Google Chrome fan, but I haven't always been.

Not so long ago, I despised Chrome and loved Firefox. But FF got long in the tooth and Chrome just didn't crash as much.

I'm hoping the newly-updated Firefox brings it back. I just tried it out and it IS fast. Whether it's as crash-prone and leaks as much memory as it used to is another matter.

Time will tell.

But as a person who is on the internet all day long, a good browser is critical.

I certainly hope you're not still using Internet Explorer...though I hear its newest iteration doesn't suck.

Moving on...

Often, you'll hear salesy types say, "I can't live without this and neither can you."

There is not a tool around that I couldn't live without. But this one...I would not want to live without it, but life goes on:

M8 Spartan Multiclip. I can't explain all of its benefits, but suffice it to say it's Microsoft clipboard on steroids, meth, human growth hormone, and weed.

(Don't get down on the website there. It sucks. Looks like it was built in 1996.)

It makes copying and pasting so much better, like a clipboard would work if somebody NOT at Microsoft designed it :)

I use it DOZENS of times a day. Heck, I use it dozens of times just for the daily postings at Free Book Search Club.

Speaking of which, I consider books the tools to train the brain. Take a look at what I found for you today:

One last tool:

"Everything

How many times do you go looking for a file but can't find it? Well, as long as you know part of the filename, Everything can, and will, find it, if it's on your local computer (works on external hard drives, too). This one saves a lot of time and sanity for me.

Make it a great day!

Bill
