What the heck just happened?

I find myself saying that a lot nowadays. Yes, this is another rant on social media. I won't dive deep here. Just state the obvious: Social media brings out the worst people.

Notice I didn't say "the worst in people."

I believe, most of the time, that people mean well. We all kind of have the same dreams, fears, wants, needs, and desires. Of course, we all have our ideas on how to achieve the good stuff and avoid the bad stuff.

But all in all, we're kind of the same.

Until you log into Facebook. That's when humankind goes haywire.

It literally just happened. I won't bore you with the details, but let me just say that I made two posts this morning: one about sandwiches and one about the shooting in the church over the weekend.

I bet you can guess which one got the most comments. And most of them were, well, unflattering.

But ever the optimist, I'm making lemonade out of these lemons: I blocked a dozen people already. That may be a PR for me.

And that's a good thing.

One thing I've learned in life is that you need to weed the negativity out of your life. If it doesn't add value, shit-can it. So I do.

You should, too.

Now, onto books. No individual book commentary today. I don't want another troll fest. Heehee.

Make it a great day!

Bill
