It still aches

Yesterday, I spilled a little of my guts out at you.

I'm sorry if that bothered you.

My heart still aches.

I wish the world were different. I wish people weren't so selfish.

That's what I see the terrorist act in Las Vegas as: Some broken person decided to go out in a blaze of glory and make himself famous by shooting 500 people.

I don't care much else to know about this person. I'll leave that to the FBI. They are the experts.

But the sad thing is, there have been 273 mass shootings (defined as shootings injuring or killing 4 or more people) in 275 days in 2017.

Let that sink in.

I've been told on Facebook that "It's too soon to talk about what to do about gun violence." That if I do, I'm pushing some sort of "hidden political agenda."

Well, with a MASS shooting occurring nearly every single day, WHEN is a good time?

I think what they're really telling me is that there is NO GOOD TIME to talk about it.

THAT right there is a political agenda.

Now, look, I hate talking about this stuff. But I hate talking to my kids about it every day, too.

What kind of a world are they growing up in?

That's it. You won't hear me talking about this again, until it happens again.

Tomorrow. Or today.

Sadly.

On a lighter note, but just as serious, I think the vast majority of people are GOOD.
