Storm watch II

Published: Wed, 09/13/17

Whew! Hurricane Irma, while devastating, was not the Mother of All Storms like it looked like she'd be.

Yes, Irma was the strongest hurricane I've ever seen. But when she made landfall, her strength was much diminished. GLAD for that.

Still, the rebuilding efforts will be monumental. Some islands were completely wiped out. People died.

So it's not to be taken lightly. Just thankful it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Speaking of storms, I got to see a beautiful lightning storm Monday night, coming back from my Meetup. LOTS of lightning flashes.

Of course, nothing about it was as devastating as Irma.

Also a good thing.

I'm back at my new home again. I took a few days to return to the Bay Area to see my kids. It wasn't nearly enough time. I miss them already. Today, I've got two kids and my wife with me. My wife and youngest, who just turned 3, will fly back to the Bay Area tonight.

And the loneliness begins again :(

This has been tough. Glad when it's over in December, when they all move up here with me and we're a family again.

Anyhoo, be thankful. Things could always be worse. Every day is a gift.

As always, make it a great day!
