is a plan to fail

Published: Wed, 01/04/17

I'm sure you've heard it before: "Failure to plan is a plan for failure."

Amiright?

Of course.

We all need to plan. But it's harder than it sounds.

I mean, if it was easy, we'd all do it and we'd all be living our dream life.

But we're not.

So there must be something to it.

Well, today I'm here to give you two helpful tips/resources.

The first is a planner.

I'm old-fashioned, even though I'm a tech geek. I still like my paper and pencil. I do most of my "work" with those two little things.

I've talked before of my "system." It's simple, really.

One 3x5 card each night - I put down the 3 things I want to get done tomorrow. Then I sleep on it.

But it's lacking.

How so? It's really just a minimalist "to-do" list. It doesn't have context or history. And nothing beyond tomorrow.

You---hell, I---need more.

A planner would help...but they're all kind of, well, generic.

And, hence, purposeless. You need a customized planner.

Here's a great way to make your own personal planner.

Now, once you've created your own planner, you need to squeeze every productive minute out of your day. How?

You become a productivity genius.

I'm convinced that with these three components:
  1. A minimalist to-do list
  2. A planner for farther-reaching goals
  3. A productivity system
that you'll accomplish all you set out to do in 2017.

Are you with me?

PS - The how-to make your own planner is only being sold through tomorrow, if I remember correctly (I bought it but don't remember the date). So time is of the essence.
I did just go check and I think the server is getting hit really hard with last-minute shoppers (the site is down). Try it and tell me if it's still down when you get this. I've message Marlon to make him aware of it and I'm sure he'll get right on it...

PPS - go read this, too. It's awesome.
