The week ahead (7/29/2013)
Published: Tue, 07/30/13
Hi
I'm trying to do something different, so bear with me. I'm going to begin telling you what I've got planned for the week ahead. This week will be very general in nature because I want to lay the framework out for you. Next week, we'll get into specifics.
Note that this is a learning moment. One of the best things you can do for your business or venture is to plan out what your goals are and how to achieve them. Peeling the onion back a bit, you must do something every week that builds your business.
So ask yourself this: What can I do to improve my business? Then plan it out for the week. It may take 6 weeks to achieve a goal, but you'll never reach it if you don't start.
Therefore, you must plan it out and execute.
This is what I'm doing this week:
I have 5 areas in my business that I want to emphasize:
- Blog
- Product creation
- Memberships
- Developing my tribe
I know that I have to do more with my email marketing. It's super powerful and effective, but I seem to always neglect doing it. So I'm changing that. My objective is to send out 5 emails a week (so be forewarned). This is the gist of it:
- A "What's Ahead" email
- A how-to on social media or user-generated content networks (e.g., YouTube)
- An offer email (a blunt offer--I have bills to pay, too)
- A how-to on SEO, blogging, social media, WordPress, etc.
- A weekly recap
For the blog, I have set the bar at 2 posts a week. These posts will "feed" 2 of those emails above. Of course, I can post more often, but 2 is the minimum.
One day per week, I will focus my energy on creating (or more appropriately, finishing) a product that I will put up for sale (or, alternatively, use it as a lead-gen on a squeeze page).
One other day per week, I will focus on one of my membership sites. It could be an existing site or a new site.
Lastly, I will send out an email to my "SELECT" tribe members that is super-powerful and will help you above and beyond in building your online business. Get on that list here:
That's it for now. Tomorrow, a how-to!
