[Coaching Academy Webinar] Live Demo: Backing up a WordPress website
Published: Fri, 02/08/13
What: Backing up your WordPress website
Where: http://erds.co/webinar
When: Tomorrow, 3pm Pacific
I share at least one thing in common with Bill Gates:
My live demos usually blow up.
Gates was famous for having Windows serve up the BSOD
whenever he'd introduce a new version, live, in front of
thousands of people.
I'm pretty famous for that sort of thing, too. My live demos
quite often go haywire and then mass hilarity ensues.
Today, at 3pm Pacific time, I'll be doing another Friday
webinar, only this time I'll be doing a live demo where I show
you how you can backup an entire WordPress website, files
and database and all, in less than 5 minutes. You don't have
to touch a line of code, access phpMyAdmin, or hit up your
ftp client.
You can also restore from backup in about the same amount
of time.
I'll also show you a super-cool trick that you can use to
deploy dozens of websites wherever you want, in no time at
all. Just change themes and add content and you're good to go!
This "WordPress cloning" concept can save you a lot of time
and make you a lot of money, especially if you run a bunch of
affiliate sites or help local businesses with their internet marketing.
For example, you could set up one "template" for restaurants,
another for locksmiths, and still another for lawyers. When you
get a new lead in one of those fields, deploy a clone to your demo
server and show it to the prospective client. He'll usually give you
the green light right then and there.
Then you make a few simple changes (like the site name and
description) and deploy it to your customer's domain. You can
add content (for a fee) or he can add his own.
What used to take hours now takes less than 5 minutes.
Anyway, I'll go over all that. See you tomorrow.
