Hey there,
Â
I know this is a little out of left field, but I need your help :)😞
Â
I created a mobile app. Why?
Â
Got tired of missing meetings, that's why. First the story, then the ask.
Â
A few years back, I had a meeting with a prospect that could have been (foreshadowing) a very good and long-term customer. But I missed the meeting.
Â
Why? I don't want to blame the "alphabet soup" for this, but I have ADHD. And while it has been (mostly) my superpower that allows me to do really DEEP work for dozens of hours at a time (that has its own peril, of course), it does put me in a bind from time to time.
Â
Anyway, suffice it to say, I missed a meeting, the prospect needed help right away, and they hired the next guy they met with.
Â
Not saying I would have sealed the deal at that meeting (but I would have LOL), but I surely sealed the
door closed.
Â
Because of my ADHD, I've put in place, over the years, many "stop gaps" efforts. Things in my routing that just make me do the stuff that ADHD hates doing.Â
Â
For example, alarms. I use my Android phone for many alarms per day.
Â
I'm also a big fan of putting things on my Google Calendar that I don't want to forget doing.
Â
But more often than not, I forget what the alarm was for and I miss the calendar notifications.
Â
I finally gave up. I
told myself: "Self, I gotta make an app." It can't be that hard, right? There are thousands, maybe millions of mobile apps, right? They all kinda suck, but they get used.
Â
So I decided to tie my Alarm Clock (that's the app that I call "Never Miss Meetings") to my Google
Calendar.Â
Â
Let me tell you: Building the app wasn't that hard. It really wasn't. But getting it past Google... Oh, boy.Â
Â
One of Google's MANY REQUIREMENTS is putting out a release with "closed testing" where you get the email address of a "tester," send them a link to the app, and they test it.
Â
Sounds simple, right? It's not so simple when you're juggling a
million plates at a time... which is what I normally do :) you know, because of the ADHD!
Â
Anyhow, if you're an Android user wanting a reliable ALARM system for your most important Google Calendar meetings, I'd love to give you the app!
Â
Just send me whatever email you want me to use as your testing account and I'll set you up.
Â
You'd help me greatly and frankly, I think you'd help a lot of folks just like me Never Miss Meetings!
Â
Thanks!
